Echoes of Coventry at SimonSays, official publisher's site

My latest work is "Echoes of Coventry" which will be released in May 2006 as an e-book in the Starfleet Corps of Engineers series for Star Trek through Pocket Books. This is my first time writing in the Star Trek Universe, but hopefully not the last. The banner ad above will take you to the SimonSays page about the book.

My first novel, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy#1 "Paths of Evil" was released in July 2004 by ibooks, inc.and distributed by Simon and Schuster. Set in the world of the popular Midway's video game, the novel follows four adventurers as they fight against the machinations of a demon lord determined to bring his rule to the known world.

The second book of the series, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy#2 "Paths of Fear" was finished, but with the demise of iBooks, is no longer going to be released.

In addition to these two novels, I had the privilege of contributing to the Ultimate Hulk anthology which was released by Byron Preiss Multimedia/Marvel Comics in October 1998. In the anthology, each of the authors were given a section of the Hulk's career to write about. Steve Roman and I had fun putting together a story of the Hulk during his brief career with the Avengers, titled "Assault on Avenger's Mansion".

I also have been an independent comic publisher/writer. In 1994-95, I wrote and published Troubleshooters Incorporated, about a group of heroes for hire brought together to fight opponents the local police are either unable or unwilling to fight. These black and white comics, drawn by Reggie Golden and inked by Randy Zimmerman, were my first opportunity to get feedback on writing, pacing and character development as well as my first attempt at running a small business and dealing with printers and distributors. I had a great time and enjoyed the creativity involved in the comic industry.

I haven't given up the goal of doing some comic writing. I really enjoy the genre and the wide diversity of comics on the market today. (You just have to know where to look.) I've developed a new series, Chronicles of the Sea Dragon. Beautifully drawn by Bill Bryant, it's an homage to the old Errol Flynn/Douglas Fairbanks, Jr era of swashbucklers, privateers and fun. We've got a 48-page one-shot completed and it was well received at San Diego Comic Con last year. We hope to have it in comic stores in the near future.
